All girls who study an instrument have the opportunity to perform in informal lunchtime concerts as well as the more formal internal and external engagements.
Girls are also entered for competitions, such as the Oswestry and Chester Festivals, the Shropshire Concerto Competition and others if they wish to compete (it is not a must!!).
We also enter girls for the Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music examinations up to Diploma level, with some excellent results and it is pleasing to note that UCAS is now rewarding Grades 6-8 with points equivalent to AS and A level qualification in recognition of the commitment needed to take grade at this level.
Aural lessons are provided by the school for Grades 6-8, in small groups of no more than four, to give the girls the best opportunity of attaining high marks in the very demanding aural tests at this level. |
