Pastoral Care & Wellbeing
"The staff at Moreton put the wellbeing of my child at the forefront of everything they do. They are supported in a subtle and gentle way to build their resilience, which enables them to tackle challenges with more confidence than before."

– Parent

Caring

Moreton provides a warm, caring family environment where every pupil’s individual needs are addressed, which enables each child to flourish. Housemistresses develop strong bonds with the pupils in their care and are usually the first person to deal with any concerns.

Each pupil is assigned to a tutor on a house basis who meets with them at least twice a week, individually and in small groups, to monitor progress and set targets to ensure that they are making the most of the opportunities on offer.

Moreton operates under an open door policy. We encourage parents to contact Housemistresses, the Director of Studies, Head of Senior School, Vice Principal or Principal with any concerns regarding their son/daughter, no matter how small.

"The wellbeing of the boys and girls at Moreton is our utmost priority. We believe that pupils who feel happy, comfortable, safe and valued are likely to go on to lead happy and meaningful lives."
The wellbeing of our pupils is woven into the fabric of daily life at Moreton.

Curriculum
From weekly PSHE (Personal Social & Health Education) lessons for all pupils in Remove to Upper 5 to learning about cultural differences through Religious Studies lessons and foreign language exchange programmes, pupils are encouraged to explore and challenge their own and others’ values, attitudes, beliefs, rights and responsibilities.

Assemblies
Attendance at mid-week school services that focus on wellbeing topics promote each pupil’s mental health and self-awareness.

Life Skills
Sixth Form students have a formal programme of life skills lectures and seminars that aim to prepare them for the world beyond Moreton. From CV writing and interview practice to discussions regarding women’s health and healthy relationships, we aim to prepare our pupils for a healthy and happy adulthood.

Sport
Our sporting philosophy is to provide sport for each and every student promoting physical and mental wellbeing.

Music and Drama
These subjects provide students with an opportunity to express themselves in many different ways. A nurturing environment is created for pupils to grow in confidence and find their voices.

"The girls are highly complimentary about the school’s pastoral care. They say they are very happy and have good relationships with their teachers, whom they see as caring for their well-being and academic progress."
